The Department of Planning and Environment manages New South Wales’ Crown land, which covers 42% of the state, including parks, reserves, roads and cemeteries.

Protecting and enhancing Crown land is essential for business, tourism, recreation, wellbeing and the biodiversity of the state. Crown land has significant spiritual, social, cultural and economic importance to the Aboriginal people of New South Wales (NSW).
